LESS MESS UP & EAT BETTER
I hate throwing food. Because I spend a large part of my budget, I learned not to buy, be creative when I cook & to accommodate my remains.
You should know that in France, for 1.2 to 6 million tons of food, according to sources, are thrown into France each year, between 20 and 100 kilos of food per year in French! (Source)
Pier food, it is also a use of water and pesticides made in vain, so wasting it still a little more deep warming. It's pretty bad when you think about food waste and pollute more than cars.
Amendments were introduced by the French National Assembly since May. Now large commercial surfaces and surfaces of over 400 square meters will now have to take the prohibition and destruction of foodstuffs, and the obligation to sign a donation agreement with a recognized aid organization.
But waste is also a struggle for all of us to throw more and consume less, so here are some principles & Tricks!
1. Manage your shopping list
- Provide a list of meals you take home and the ingredients for achieving your recipes!
- Do not racing as your fridge is not empty (better to make small, regular runs a monthly trip to the supermarket)
- Keep your fruits & vegetables properly
- Freeze what you will not eat within 2-3 days In addition, a full freezer uses less electricity than an empty freezer!
- Use ziplock to keep or freeze your runs & os remains. I wash and dry my own and re-used.
2. Cook!
- Make room in good quantity and then take the opportunity to take part or freeze your leftovers in the office.
- If your fruits or vegetables begin to wilt, make soup or juice.
- Eat the skin: if you consume organic, do not peel! The skin of fruits & vegetables contain important nutrients.
3. Ask for a doggy-bag
- Most restaurant will be very happy to do it (and you will be so happy the next day!). Promised, nobody ever told me no, so go for it!
